RFE ordered but not sent??

So we heard back from our congresswoman's office, and USCIS told her caseworker (who kindly inquired for us although we haven't hit the six months mark) that "an RFE was ordered but not sent." He said this might mean that they found what they were looking for. He told us to call him again if we haven't heard anything in a week. Unfortunately, he didn't give us (and probably didn't have) any details about when this happened, whether the RFE was definitely off the table, etc.

So we are wondering if it would make any sense for us to try to find out from USCIS what has been going on, and if they might indeed need something from us after all. What do you guys think? Anybody ever had this situation of an RFE ordered but not sent?

P. S.

Also, I just wish I had any idea what that RFE might be for. Neither of us has been married before, and we gave them a phone bill that shows that I lived in the same building as my fiancé while I studied in the US, along with boarding passes of my latest visit and some secondary evidence of having met and bonafide relationship. We followed the guides closely, so I cannot imagine what might be missing...

I wonder if it might have something to do with my past student visa history, and whether they might want past I-20 forms to see if I've always been in good status (which I was). However, they already determined that when they issued me my OPT-based EAD back in 2007, and I left while that was still valid... Plus, from what I learned here, past immigration status would be investigated at the consulate stage, right? O.k., enough speculation...

NO NO NO, call them USCIS, and speak only to a officer, not customer service, I had a RFE but USCIS never sent it, cause of a computer glitch.

Call them, be safe not sorry later down the road. Cause if they issued a RFE you have so many days to respond to it, and if you dont respond to it timely, yur petitioned is denied, and you have to start all over again. Dont rely on someone to get you answers, do it yourself, call USCIS!!!!!

Truly happy!!!

So my fiancé called USCIS and got to speak to an immigration officer. And guess what: he said the RFE was sent five days ago and we should receive it by Friday. Now I wonder why the congressman got different information... and even more what the hell that RFE will be. Scary.
