My fiance's NOA2 is still not received 6 months after the petition is filed and NOA1 received. He has to come to US by end of August for his classes in college and it looks like we won't be able to get his K1 by then. I know what you're going to say - F1... But even if we get I-20 form from the college now we wouldn't be able to submit petition for another visa, right? Even if we can, how can we then continue K1 process after he receives F1 visa and stays in US?

By the way, is there a phone # I can call to speak with USCIS representative to find where my K1 petition stands?

try contacting your congressman or senator

Just take or send them the NOA1 and any correspondence with USCIS. The more info you give them, the better the help.

Yes you can apply for an F1 visa, it has no affect on the K1 and you always could have. He could remain here while the K1 processed and return to Kiev for the interview when the time came.

You can try that, may be too late now, or contact your congressman or senators office and ask for the immigration specialist. About all they can do is make an inquiry, but sometimes that gets them to pull the file out from under the table leg

Well, I did try that and guess what? There's no real person to speak with - there's just a recording that says that customer service representatives don't have any more information (which is they received my application on such and such date and that's it). The actual talk with representative isn't even an option there, so I'm not sure how you guys ever speak with humans there...

I second the 'service request'. I think that helped get us moving at 6 1/2 months. Speak to a real person and do a service request...sometimes you have to wait until you are 30 days out of normal processing (meaning 7 months from NOA1).

You have to wait until they ask you if you want to report a problem with your case on the recording after they tell you the status, and you have to press the number for that (I think it was 3). I wrote down what you have to press from the beginning of the call to get to a person... 1, 2, 1, Receipt number, 1, 3, 3, 1.

Whether or not they will give you a service request or not is a different question. My case is over six months as well and they refused to give me one. I would contact your congressperson or senator as everyone else suggested, just google your city and state to find the representatives and fill out the waivers that they provide on their websites. Then you can mail them in and speak to the person in charge of immigration at the local offices to find out what is going on with your case.
