God was smiling down upon Maria and I today in the Philippines. Our whole ordeal took over one year from the time my I 129F was received in Vermont, but perhaps God has his reasons and it was for the best. The most important thing is Maria and I now can begin our married life together once we get back to Florida.

To the rest of you, just starting the process or somewhere in between, be strong.

I haven't been back this room in a while, but I wanted to drop by and let everyone know of our happiness. Ironically I saw that Wendy and Gregor had the last post, and they were the founders of this thread. Wendy and Gregor did a wonderful thing when they started this, because it gives those of us lingering in the mist support and hope.

Maria and I were as some of you know one of the longer suffering members of the 6 Months and Waiting club, since our March 27 NOAH 2 took ten months in coming. Then NVC messed with us for almost another two months. We had our interview today June 10th, and that makes the total approval process over one whole year.

The two of us went into the interview today with apprehension, but also with a feeling that the long ordeal may have had a purpose. I had the chance to live here in the Philippines with Maria for five months now, so I got to know her whole family the way it should be done. The two of us had a chance to live together for an extended period and that was good for both of us too. Over the last six months some crucial things happened with her family, and she was here to deal with it. Now we will both head home to Florida with a completely good feeling. So who knows; maybe, the long wait had a reason.

For those of you still going through the long wait for NOAH 2, look at us and keep the faith. It will happen eventually.

Maria and I finally were approved for a Fiance Visa today at the US Embassy in Manila. My NOAH 1 was May 27, 2008, so it took over a whole year in the coming. Good luck to everyone else, and thanks for everyone who helped us understand things here on VJ.
