Now you have all the information and your response seems more realistic. I'm really not a monster, just a guy who isn't really good with fine detail. I did the best I could at the time and fell a little short. Thank you again for your support and I promise to write here and let everyone interested in knowing the fallout from the Consulate in Ciudad Juarez.

Perhaps your chances are better since you forgot to put an attachment to include the last child, since it didn't fit the page, it sounds much better than having the space and omitting him entirely. Still, it's a risk and it will be up to the CO.

Different case scenarios is something we see here everyday so we appreciate your input once you go to the interview, as it becomes helpful information for future applicants.

If I sounded a little harsh is just what I read from your first post when you said you fiance was upset about it, we see lots of relationship going downhill during the process and we tend to have alarms going off at slight things due to seeing these happen over and over.

Good luck in the interview and hopefully you'll be able to be approved and complete the K2 without any problems.

Guess you see many different types of cases here? Marcela and I talk every day and sometimes two to three times per day. I left Mexico almost a year ago and she is feeling very lonely and wants to be with me as much as I want to be with her. Moods can get a little stretched to say the least. I am a very calm and mellow person and very little upsets me. Poor Marcela lets the weather upset her sometimes. So, you can imagine what ran through her mind when I made my error and not filled in the name of her youngest child on the form. I mentioned him in the body of the how we met section. She totally allowed her imagination to run wild and thought all the bad things. So, my position is that I MESSED UP and I will FIX IT!!! I feel horribly but that doesn't change a thing. We still have to walk the mile to obtain the visa. I merely asked the question to see if anyone else has had such an experience and can impart some wisdom to me. I didn't expect any judgment or harshness as that didn't seem the purpose of this forum. Actually I was quite shocked!! People are human and make errors. I'm not a law student, lawyer, legal advisor or anything like that. I am a red blooded human with my faults and imperfections.

Thank you again for your honesty and your help. MUch apprecited.

I hope my experience will help others who are human like me and who make mistakes. If you make a mistake, it's NOT the end of the world. Simply get in touch with your Congressman and explain yourself to him/her and get their advice. From the moment I talked with my congressman, it took a little over a week to receive my open appointment letter.

The US Consulate accepted that I made an error due to human factors as opposed to some other reason. They simply asked for birth certificates for all of Marcela's children and within a week, they added Diego to the list and now we are scheduling our time to head to Juarez. Something told me it was simple and that this wasn't the first time this has ever happened. People make mistakes, so please don't be afraid to ask for help.

Best wishes to everyone going through this process and NEVER NEVER forget why we are all here. We are all here to spend the rest of our lives with the person we are madly in love with. If you are here for any other reason...............do yourself a favor.............don't waste your time and money. They will discover it and make your life difficult. Love is pure and honest. Many of these people at the consulate can see right through something other than love.

Glad it worked out for you, and thanks for the update. Seriously, it was not a situation I had ever seen and really went through all the technicalities in my head of materially changing an approved petition, etc. The consulates DO have some pretty wide latitude, we just don't know what the limits are. It is a very good experience (well, not really a good experience, but good information) and valuable to others here in the future.

Good luck

Thank you again for your help and support. I have another related question.

With relation to the K2 for Diego and our Consulate Interview, etc. There seems to be some confusion on my behalf regarding forms, etc. On the website the DS-160 replaces all the DS-156 forms but they aren't using it yet? Is it suggested that I fill in the DS-160 as well as all the DS-156 forms and take them with us in the event Marcela needs one or the other? Guess you can say that I learned a huge lesson here for not being 1000% prepared for everything. I'm very concerned about making another mistake.

SOME cinsulates are using the DS-160 which will be the new "cover all" form (which means it won't work) If the consulate is not requesting it (and the ones using it make it pretty clear on their website) then you do not need it. We did a K-2 to follow last week in Kiev and they are nit using it yet. Remember that any male applicant over age 16 must also fill out DS-157

Your advice is definitely prudent. No use in trying to use something they aren't ready to use. I will follow the consulate rules. Thank you again for your help.
