I recently married my American wife, I immigrated on a K-1 Visa. I am in the process of putting together the Adjustment of Status package for the Chicago Lockbox. I am putting together the I-864 (Affidavit of Support), my wife and I are both students and neither of us have an income. My father in law was my financial sponsor for packet 2 for my consulate interview, he is willing to be my sponsor for the I-864 as well, is he allowed? It states that my sponsor should be my original petitioner, who is now my wife.

The USC spouse is always the primary sponsor and would complete an I-864. The co-sponsor will complete an affidavit as well.
