is it asking information about my spouse or my spouse's past husband/wife? please can somebody look it as it is too much confusing!

In the first question it is asking you how many times your spouse has been married? If he/she has only been married to you and never before write down 1 in the box and skip the other questions. If he/she has been married before you, write down the number of times he/she has been married before and fill out information on his/her previous spouse in the boxes below.

thanks so much. yeah thats what i understand that i need to give infomration about my spouse's past husbad or wife. but language is confusing on the form or may be just i am making it confusing.
