While I might not like it (or might if it was funny) I would never suggest someone should be publicly flogged or loose their job about any joke told in the privacy of an email.

Racism is illegal in AUS. He could actually be arrested for this there. Whereas, it is protected under the first amendment here.

So I wonder which of the two constitution clauses he believe is better? more modern and all.

I entered Private Pike in the user field and used "black, African and minority" as the keyword, sorted by posts. I did not see one post where you actually called an African American being racist, a racist. Quite the contrary actually. Almost to the point that one can conclude you are basically insinuating only whites are racist.

As far as I can recall.... the people he sent them to were "friends and former board members" (one in the same?) Your suggesting he is sending these emails to friends and people he hardly knew.

I agree this is not a "liberal" case in the direct sense as I would bet (with 10 to 1 odds) this guy is left leaning himself.

Personally I think anyone sending out these kinds of jokes are STUPID as "race" rather than recede has become even more divisive an issue. Even some of the Black comedians are mindful of their jokes.

The vast majority of jokes are at the expense of someone and always have been.

KNowing the bounds of what is "too much" and knowing who your audience is ..are perhaps the key.

Sometimes people do tell mean and cutting jokes with the intent to harm, these usually have a shade of darkness to them which both; kills any humor and, stands out for what it is. To the hyper sensitive, they see this everywhere.

Again, if we were to follow those with their RACIAL RADAR on full blast....the only joke you could tell or listen to would be one in which no one could find offense. (the ones your 2nd grader tells you)
