I agree with what the others said, you really should EXPECT AP, its pretty standard and shouldnt be seen as a 'bad sign', but rather just more to endure.....

dont worry, all this waiting will end at some point and you'll move on to the oh so fun adjustment phase :P

I dont think anyone has every died from this, easy, no end of life, no. All of us at one time felt they held our life in their decisions but thats not really true, we all managed you just take what life gives you one step at a time, there will be many choices and decisions to make yet.

Just breath, relax and make your life here good and plan best you can for the future. Hope for the best, if something interfers then its a bump and you work thru it to the end. Alot of time the togetherness and adjusting afterwards are just as complicated as getting the visa thru, best wishes and relax (F)

I haven't gotten physically sick from it but it certainly took it's toll emotionally and on our relationship.

We had AP for 5 1/2 months.

I wish you the best of luck.

Relax your time will come. you won't get denied.

It is a very hard time.

I wrote several emails to the consulate pleading with them and telling them how distressful it was for us being separated.

I dunno if it matters but I think when the congressman and senator intervened, that helped bring attention to our case.

Well, I'm not sure outfits will matter, but do you all have your photos, evidence, all documentation in order? Best of luck - it's a tough one.

I just was babbling in another thread, i dont know if it will help you but... if you get a long AP and are seperated for a lengthy time, use that time to REALLY know eachother, talk about expectations once he is here, family dynamics ect(maybe you already did this).

You should be prepared for a wait, but dont make yourself sick over something that isnt here yet. Get through the interview and go from there.

anyway, here's what i just posted somewhere else and i thought would kinda fit into the whole waiting thing. (My husband has been home for a month now after being apart for 16 months)

YA! I was talking to Y and saying: "it seems like none of that ever happened! like we didnt wait 13 months.. i dont even think about it."

Sure its over a year of my life i will never get back, but its paid off because we established an intimacy through forced seperation that would have only been acheived with years of living together I HAD to think of the bright side during that wait and it really turned out to be true. I think we have an advantage that couples who get reunited quickly dont have. I think it is a big reason why there was/is no awkwardness since he has arrived... we just gelled right into a married couple, like we'd been living together the whole year.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
