Adding DDG, welcome! Hopefully all will go OK for you even though you are late filing. We can only wait and watch. Do you know what date you sent in your application? What service center did you send your application to, please?

Usually I'm a pretty relaxed guy, and while I, like anybody else, would love to get my 10-year GC rather earlier than later, when it comes down to it, it doesn't really matter if I get my approval in September, October, or even November.

Since it's been 51 days since I got my NOA1 (6/22), but are still waiting for my biometrics letter, I under normal circumstances would have placed a service request already. Problem is, however, that I'm going to celebrate my 3rd. wedding anniversary (8/25) during a well deserved vacation on the US Virgin Island from 8/22 'til 8/30. and am afraid that the bio appointment would fall right into that period.

Of course, there's a good chance that I could do an early bio, but what if they won't go for it?

Then again, I don't think I can enjoy the vacation with the uncertainty dooming over my head. What would YOU do if you were me>

You're right, the timing is tricky. However, if I was in your place I would probably put in a service request after the 15th. It is highly unlikely that the request will be processed, a bio appointment letter sent and it being scheduled to a date, all within two weeks. I think when most of us got the bio appointment letter, the scheduled time was not less than two weeks in the future. :yes:

I don't know what happened to all you guys who got the June 22 NOA date! Maybe whoever filed the mail on that day put it in the wrong place. :ranting: Insanely UNFAIR!! :protest:

Maybe all you others should go to an Infopass like taho, it seemed to bring a result fast. :unsure:

...since then I check every single day their web site...

BTW has someone received a letter before an update is reflected in the web site? In other words, could I receive their letter in the mail before I receive an email with an update?

Hi Taho, Code 3 means they'll take your fingerprints & photo, that's all I also got only one paper. Did my biometrics yesterday (walk-in) not a problem!!! Good luck!

Hello everyone. Please add my wife to this thread.

We sent application 06/15/09 and did not get a receipt through today.

I called the 1-800 number and got through almost immediately :thumbs:

I only had to talk to two people with very little wait to find out that the receipt had been mailed to the wrong address.

The agent was able to immediately help me :thumbs: and we should be able to get the receipt within 30 days.

The agent even told me that Tita was going to get an automatic extension of one year while this case was being handled.

I even asked if there was any problem with the case and she said no. She did confirm they are working off February applications.

Hi Guys,
New member to the group. I filed on June, and I got my NOA on the 8th and did my FP the 7/22. Now my case is kind of particular. I got confused with the GC expiration date, thinking it was in 2010 but in June I realized it expired on 3/24/09. Anyways, I submitted all the documents (including birth cert. of my 1 yr old) by 6/3. I haven't heard anything yet, no rejections or anything. The guy at the immigration office didn't seem to bothered with the idea on my filing late. Everything seems to be going smoothly. Should I say no news, good news?

Now, lets say they reject the application due to late filing. What are my options? can I just refile the whole thing again? My biggest concern is that I would have to leave the contry. I'm finishing my gradute studies and it would be one of the worst possible thing if I had to put a stop to it.

I have not been able to find similar stories with good or bad endings... your comments are more than welcome.
