We just got a I-797C, Notice of Action today indicating that we have an appointment next week to have biometrics taken otherwise our I485 Application will be "considered abandoned." The thing is, we had our interview back in January 2009 and have already gotten a conditional Green Card.

What is this about??

Hi

I am not sure why you would have another biometrics appointment but I would either call the 1800 even though they aren't very accurate or if it is not to much of an inconvience make an infopass appointment and discuss with them about your letter.

Best of luck

I guess they have made a mistake & they have mixed up your name with another CGC holder's name to remove his/her conditional residency status (I-751).

Don't forget FOR USCIS, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.

I agree with AussieKat - call the misinformation line and escalate the call from the person who answers to phone to an actual USCIS employee, or make (preferable option, actually) an infopass appointment and find out what is going on.

Thank you for the responses ... it appears this has happened to others before. What really throws me off is that this letter specifically states to bring the conditional green card and also unlike the first biometrics letter, it doesn't stipulate a fee.

If they have stated clearly that you need to bring your Conditional green card and the first biometrics letter is..then its not a mistake.. i Suggest you to call USCIS asap to first confirm why you are being called for another interview along with your already issued conditional green card.

Good luck and god bless you.

Well, I got through to the brain trust that is the USCIS and their official stance is that they have no idea whether this was an error and advised that we show up for the appointment anyway. The only thing Agent Genius could think of was that it was part of the I-751 process which, since it hasn't nearly been 2 years since we've been granted conditional residence, isn't yet required of us.

So ... where exactly does the 1 grand I paid go to?? General Motors?? It sure as hell isn't going to staff the USCIS with anyone with the mental capacity greater than that of a spoon.
