CAN I REQUEST FOR A NAME CHANGE DURING INTERVIEW?

I get the impression it's not quite that seamless a process in Denver. The District Court website here says the following:

How is the court involved in the naturalization process?

The district court holds ceremonies for those individuals requesting a court ceremony for the purpose of requesting a name change as part of their naturalization process.

Now that tells me that here, naturalizations with name changes are handled differently than naturalizations that do not involve name changes.

The ceremony I attended was 30 minutes ( I forgot how many of us) in Montebello Ca. There wasn't any difference I believe. After the ceremony we were ushered to the room were they hand over certificates according to your # written down on your oath notice. Like what I've said, I received my certificate and stapled to it is the Petition for Name Change signed by a US District Court granting me my name change. I am not sure if other people who filed for Change of Name had their ceremony hadled differently.

It's rather annoying that things aren't standardized. Some jurisdictions allow Same Day Oath, others don't. In Denver, the court handles ceremonies for those requesting name changes. Other places apparently handle the name change in the background without an impact on the actual ceremony.
