The flow of things after NOA2 is that it goes to NVC (National Visa Center), and then forwarded to your consulate. I haven't ever heard of being able to passively track your case from this point on, but the waiting times between communications are much shorter, so easier to wait out the snail mail. I feel bad calling these guys just for status updates, but I know it's hard to resist...There won't be any action for you to take until packet 3 is received, but it won't be long!

You will (or should) get a letter in the mail from NVC saying that they got your case, and your consulate case number. For most people, by the time you get this letter, your packet has already arrived at the consulate. Though it is not unheard of to run into AP at NVC, even after you get this letter, I understand.

You can track your case during it's time at NVC by calling NVC. You'll use your WAC number, and they can basically tell you when they got it and when they sent it on to the consulate. Sometimes it can take WEEKS for it to be in their system. Their number is 603 334-0700.

Once it is at the consulate, it is in the hands of DOS (Department of State), and you can call them to check on things like: Receipt of your package, packet 3 sent, packet 3 received, interview date, and the status of your visa (processing/sent, etc) after your interview. Their phone number is 202 663 1225.

Typically what you'll need to identify yourself as someone eligible to be given case information is the full name of the petitioner, and the full name of the beneficiary, dates of birth, and your case number (WAC for NVC, consulate case number for DOS).
