Hi guys!

I have noticed on people's timelines things like "NVC recieved" "NVC left" "Consulate Recieved" etc. How do they know all those dates? The website still says my K-1 app is recieved and pending with no update since 1/14/09, even though we have our NOA2.

Sometimes you never do see an update, ours was one of the ones that only ever showed pending.

The way they know those dates of arrival and departure is by ringing NVC to enquire.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Actually, I think NVC received is on the letter NVC will send you with your LND (London) case number. I did get impatient and call  two weeks after NOA2 (one day before the letter was received) just to check that things hadn't been lost. It happened to be the day they sent it out. There's a trick to tracking based on the date they sent it out, if you do a forum search on DHL tracking, it will probably bring up a thread where the reference number formula is described.

For people who are patient (this group does NOT include me) you can just wait for Packet 3 - it will contain your next actionable information.

Hi guys!

The online update systems is wildly inaccurate. If I went by it, I would never have filled in my timeline, my case is still listed as "pending". My wife has been here 9 months. Quit flogging yourself with this online bubble gum they toss to you. Our NOA2 date was more than a year ago, it still says "received and pending"

I updated my timeline in arrears. When I got the letter from NVC I said when they received it, so I put that date in. The letter said it would be sent within one week, so I added 7 days and put that date as "NVC left" (may or mat not be spot on accurate) I was emailing the embassy and asking if they had the case. On June 3rd (last year) they sent me an email saying they received it, I used that date as "consulate received"

You will get a letter from NVC, then come back and fill in the dates.
