Quick question on the EAD:

Hubby is coming in 14 days & we want to file the EAD the Monday after he comes. We figured we'd get that out of the way & then file AOS next year close to our 2 year wedding anniversary & shoot for the 10 yr green card in hopes of by temporary process & the removal of conditions process/fee 2 years from now.

We know it'll be a little more up front $$ $ but it'll also save us a little $$$ on the back end too. Are we able to do this or do we have to do the AOS 1st????

(Also the AOS here at our local CIS is posting a processing date of Aug 8, 2008!!!!)

Thanks everyone!

Question: Has anyone gotten a reciept for the work authorization application? It's been a while (not too long, but long enough) and I haven't gotten anything yet. Wondering what's going on with everyone else?

Now VSC is saying to send our EAD to Texas. :girlwerewolf2xn:

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Steve, I know it's terribly difficult. Do you need some karma stars? I'm sure I have some left over from when GS was here. Want me to pull them out for you??? Sounds like my husband before he got here. Working all these hours that are humanly impossible. I guess the positive thing is that you have less than a month before the ladies get here. So hopefully that will give you the energy you need to keep going! I'm wishing the best for you. Here you go... :star::star::star:

Lisa, our check was cashed awhile ago. I'm not sure what's going on. To tell you the truth, I'm not checking like crazy and driving myself mad over it, like when we were waiting for the NOA2 for our petitions :D

Sarita, I just happened to run into the lawyer which I spoke to 2 years ago when I first got married with my husband (his office is next door to USCIS). The lawyer said the same as Lisa. 2-3 months. He also said that if by some freak situation we don't get it within 90 days then the local USCIS office will issue a temporary work authorization card that can be used until the official one is issued. I thought that was a positive, for once. My husband was a little relieved as he is extremely eager to get back to work.

Que, driving with bumper cars sounds good. That might be a good idea for our K3 get together. Let's all go to an amusement park and put our spouses on bumper cars and go carts

Jen, I'm glad you posted. I miss your posts and your sense of humor.

Sarita, since you're gonna be on tonight maybe we can all get together. What do you all think? I should be good to go. I am only working half a day today so I can get my errands done early. Would you all like to get on around 8-9pm EST? Let me know. Send me a message to my cell. You all should have the number when I sent out texts to you guys.

Wow! I just realized that our 2 year anniversary is less than 3 weeks away!!! Can you believe it??? Okay, need help. What can I possibly do with a hubby that doesn't like movies or dining out??? Any ideas???

How about a romantic spa getaway :) I am so glad your hubby got here in time for the second anniversary. No thanks to USCIS

I was online yesterday but no one was around.....I can try and be online for 8:00PM EST, I have to pick up hubby around 9:00 EST.

I now have to wait till July to find out if I made the August interviews, the only annoying thing is that I am unable to work. :(

I guess there is no point in me applying for EAD as it would take just as long. THANK GOD we decided to go throught with the K3 and thanks to ALL OF YOU for talking me into it :)

Any plans for the weekend?

Hello!! Wifey passed her written test!! Now its time for bumper cars!!!

Lisa - I agree, #######!!! I called the mis-information line yesterday and was told to add the 8 weeks to the 30 days my wife has been waiting for her GC, and to call back after that period. You should call USCIS and go to the section about getting information on forms and ask them where you should mail the EAD!!! And this time when you send it, quote the agent# on the cover letter.

Seren - On the bright side, you get to hang out at Laguna beach!!!

What is everyone else up to? I have a b-day party and a wedding reception to go to this weekend!!! Never a dull weekend during the summer.

Its a freaking crapshoot, I want to be done with USCIS for atleast 18 months before I have to start thinking about lifting conditions. In the Removing conditions forum there are all these people have have their card production ordered, but no one has received their cards yet. What a pain!!!

Lisa - Do you think someone at VSC and CSC just made a mistake on if they should accept your application or not? Or did they accidently mail you back your application with the NOA1? You should probably try to get a supervisor on the line and have them look at it.

I talked to a human and his reaction when I told him was: "oh wow" but, they wont tell me anything w/o Y's permission, so I gave him the task of calling the misinformation line ha

Lol...so Y is going to have the fun we have been having for the past year!! They wouldn't give me any information when I called about my wife's gc unless she was on the phone with me. I had to call back, and the weird thing is that I can't get to a operator without going through the address change option. Do you have another way?

I usually use the address change way, but I accidentally got through this last time... honestly, i dont know lol i started inputting our receipt number too early and it transfered me to a human! He asked me if I had made an appointment. ??? He was super helpful and also told me that no matter what option gets you to a human, they all can help you.

Yazied did call and the lady said to do whatever the notice says(mail it to TSC). I told him to call back and ask for a supervisor.

wait: newsflash--he says that VSC said they rejected the application and to send it to TSC.
