We met on yahoo personals, which I don't think constitutes a marriage broker. In our orginal filing for the question regarding where did you meet, the company I used insisted writing While visiting Vietnam. He told me that she can discuss meeting on Yahoo at the interview, because this was asking where you phyiscally met. Should I include with the RFE on a separate piece of paper that we met on Yahoo Personals with an outline of our relationship?

If you have no criminal backround and no previous filings, then what does it matter where you met? There is nothing to disclose to the fiancee.

Yeah. I asked myself the same question. We met online through a free penpal site - so it isn't a marriage broker. And I wonder whether it would be a good idea to enclose a letter explaining that, instead of just checking 'no', since we have told them we met online.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

lol!!! Thanks Dean!

Well, well, well...

Keeping it simple: I met my fiance on a site named MySpace - www.myspace.com, it's a site to link to you to another people around the world, to make new friends, many "new musicians and singers" are on MySpace in order to show their work! Be sure this is the best of this site!

(But I know there are people looking for meting girls and boys to have a relationship!)

We DON'T HAVE TO PAY TO ENJOY MYSPACE.

So, receiving a RFE would MySpace be consider a Marriage Broker?

In my opinion I don't think so, but I'd like to hear from people who know more stuff about that than me!

Thanks!

Myspace is free for anyone who wishes to join. Your answer would be no to question #1 on the RFE. (even though it is a big online meat market LOL!)

I'm in the same boat as we met on an online site as well. So I called CSC and asked them and the lady told me to include a separate sheet of paper saying I'm not sure if the site we met was marriage broker site and to include the name of the site and address. She also mentioned to answer questions 2 and 3 from the RFE on a separate sheet of paper. Kind of weird she told me that, I guess they don't want you to leave those questions blank. Finally, make sure you sign and date the separate sheet of paper. I would try calling your service centers for more clarification.

One cannot call the individual service centers. It is the NCSC, which is a call center. There is 4 such call centers throughout the US all connected via the 800 number. Any information or advice given by these call centers should be taken with a grain of salt as they are reknowned for misinformation.

Service Centers

The four USCIS Service Centers in Vermont, Texas, California, and Nebraska were established to

handle the mail, file, data entry, and adjudication for approximately 65% of applications received by

USCIS. Service Centers do not conduct interviews with customers and are NOT staffed to handle

walk-in applications or answer questions. (This includes phone calls, faxes and emails. The only center that still offers email is CSC)

Telephone Centers (NCSC)

Through the National Customer Service Center’s four telephone centers (these are also based in Vermont, Texas, California, and Nebraska) USCIS provides toll-free nationwide assistance to customers calling from within the United States. Customers can access live assistance from 8:00AM until 6:00PM, Monday through Friday; they can access recorded information (including information about the status of their specific case) 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Both live and recorded service is available in English and Spanish. Callers from outside the U.S. can access more limited information through a separate toll number.
