how cute.. you even had dust left behind :lol:

IMO these little spats need to be settled in PMs. Personally I would be upset if I responded to a PM and then details of the reply was posted for all of the VJ world to see. That's just me though. I have met some dear friends here on VJ, met a couple even with my long stay in Egypt and words cannot begin to say how much I appreciate them. I really would have had much of a harder time on this terribly long journey without them.

Since joining VJ not that long ago, I have seen a change too. A lot in the mannerism of the replys to innocent questions, then there have been the threads that make anyone go hmmmmmmmmmmm. I can't compare to what it was like when other members joined years ago, but in a few short months VJ is not as pleasant as it was before.

There were many times during the visa wait that I would see someone post how hard of a time they were having with waiting missing their fiances/husbands/wife, and inevidably someone would make an ill comment on how they were acting. I realize everyone processes stress differently, but when someone says they are having a hard time, they need support, not a knife in the back. If you have walked the walk, then you can talk the talk to me. I have posted in the past regarding PMs that were sent to me during my stay in Egypt saying how stupid I am, etc, etc, etc. Exactly the things I did not need to be hearing when I was at the lowest of my life. I know of a few gals on the ME/NA forums that really need VJ for support and then someone makes a stupid comment, so uncalled for. No matter where our fiances/spouses are coming from, they are human beings with feelings, we all need to respect that.

Guess this is my short story for the week. Hope everyone is doing well!

hi crazy egypt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good posting.

I would never join a club that was exclusive. That's why I would never found a club either--as none would join and therefore I would be breaking my first rule about not joining an exclusive club.

I dont join exclusive clubs. i did as a little bunny.

Ok...my last post, along with Sarah(who Craig & I just got off the phone with..nice! girl she is!) to clarify a few things myself.

I'm not running with my tail between my legs over Lisa's very eloquent post as some of you would love to believe. (*don't recall a failure to post back per somone's request ever being "owned" but hey, that's just ME) I, just like Sarah, have just grown tired of the place. It is VERY useful for information and used to be fun to have a laugh as well...it still is with certain people. I sent a few PM's out yesterday, and (totally unrelated incidents as far as *I* know!) Sarah decided to do the same a few hours later. Unlike at least one poster thinks, I didn't feel I needed to be 'validated' by her before I left. If you recall, I never stated anywhere up until now I even was going anywhere, but I don't expect you to understand my desire to clarify things here one last time either. People work differently(oh, if anything, I already know what's gonna be said about THAT line, and YESSSSSS I get it already!) ;)

Gimy, if you really must be that curious about our life, I'm sure Amera can post a few pics of our little meetup tonight. Nothing 'timed' about my exit 't all but think what you like, you conspiracy-girl you. :)

Funny that people don't like it when I continue to post certain things, but when I don't they are all over it wondering 'ooooooooooo, what's the deep, dark reason for it??)

Now, to whoever said if you are REALLY leavning the accounts will be disabled soon...don't worry your pretty little head, it'll happen. Some of us just want a chance to get/respond to our PMs and gather emails, etc before we shut that off...no deep, dark mystery there either if you think about it. When Sarah said she made this thread, I just HAD to have a look. That's just me, too. :)

Anyway, for those of you who have been helpful, not rude during disagreements(which is fine..it's the petty sniping and nit picking that really bothers me...like it or not) and just outright wonderful people..thanks. To ANYONE still going through this process, hope you have a speedy journey and I wish you all the best.

You can either take this for what it is...one response to all the wonderings on this thread, or you can twist it into "Oh loookkkkkkk Michelle's trying to get attention again!!!" Either way, it works for me. 1/you can read it and move on or 2/you get the drama some of you seem to abhor, but are drawn to like a moth to a flame.

Craig has gotten the visa, we're done with AOS, we're happy, I don't need it, so going. that's all, simple as. (F)

One last post for you Smitty....have fun with it! :P;) j/k

See ya! :) M.

I note that both Sarah and Michelle were most active in the OT forum, at present anyway. One could reasonably conclude from this that they were participating in VJ more for the social aspect than for the immigration aspect.

It is not surprising that they, like anyone else, prefer to socialize in places that best match their personal sensibilities.

Sukie and (I think) Michelle have decided to leave, so I wish them the best of luck. Hopefully you both will find the utopia you want.

Wow... I leave for the weekend and look at all of the drama I missed....

For all who are leaving, I am sorry to see you go... the diversity of opinion and life experiences here are two of the things that make this forum so helpful for David and me.

Change happens... that's what makes the world go round. I'd be bored if things stayed the same. I agree that the personal attacks and snippy comments are, in most cases, uncalled for. There will always be those who instigate... and those whose humor is misinterpreted.... and we don't have the benefit of eye contact or body language (except for the smilies) to help with interpretation. People who post in forums like this should understand and accept that.

This immigration process is stressful enough... For some, this forum is an outlet for that stress.. for others, it's a diversion, or a source of education, and/or all of the above. Peace everyone.... Jen

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.
