Hey all

Just a quickie......flew into San Francisco on Thursday. Flight was great, no problems and I was the first in my queue at customs. The officer there was fantastic, knew exactly what the deal was and I was through and collecting my bags within 5 minutes. Absolute doddle - much like the interview in London!!!

Got the joint bank account set up with the missus yesterday and had my bachelor party last night. We're working on renting an apartment as we speak, i've got a job interview Tuesday (not sure when i'll drop the "I can't actually work" bombshell to be honest), and am planning the DMV and social security stuff on Monday. Then wedding on Saturday, and birthday on Tuesday. It's all go!

Thanks to everyone who has helped us get this far......really is much appreciated!

Thanks guys.

At the moment it's all relatively straightforward. We've had so long to plan everything that now it's just a case of swinging into action. We actually waited a few months before I left to come over here so that I could finish my work contract and earn a few more pounds, but we have most things in place - just have to do them all now!

The bachelor party was the day after I arrived in SF.

I can't remember ever being so drunk in a long, long time.

Still, a good time was had by all and I was well looked after :D

We just managed to get an apartment sorted, despite numerous places requiring us to be earning 3x the rent each month. Given the not allowed to work thing, thats a bit ambitious, but fortunately the old dear at this complex is looking after us too. My parents fly in today, and we head off for the wedding on Thursday. Busy times!

We felt the same way. Married 5 days after POE and filed AOS 4 days later. We used the "waiting" times to figure out the next step and do the paperwork.

Be sure and pop in on the UKers who are doing AOS http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=189022

I posted a basic list or summary of the documents needed on page 6 of the thread (halfway down the page.)

And there's a spreadsheet showing progress and how long things took each person. UK AOS Timeline

It's a Google Doc and sometimes it will redirect to a log-in page if you already have a Google account. It doesn't require a log-in to view, but if you already have an account then it tries to make you log in to your Google.

Happy b'day and congratulations on marrying the beautiful (L) Mrs. Pothergavel (L) .
