Charcoal or Propane?

Just trying to decide which way to go. I have been informed by a friend that propane is for sissies, so just looking for other opinions.

propane is a lot quicker then characoal but I like the taste charcoal gives the food

Charcoal is less dangerous, but it's easier to control the heat with propane...

Charcoal is good for a smokier flavor, but it takes toooooooooo long and too messy.

my hubby has a little propane grill and sometimes he puts some soaked mesquite wood chips in foil in the BBQ... it gives the food that nice smoky flavour
