Hi,

The embassy sent the older version of the I-134 to my SO(beneficiary). I didn't realize this and I sent him the newer version of the I-134 which doesn't require me to sign before a notary public. Will this be a problem? Has this happened to anyone else? What are your suggestions? Should I get the old form and send it to him or should I just hope that they accept the new form? Thank you in advance for you help.

It might be - I would suggest you email/call them and see if it's ok.

Most embassies link you to the USCIS site to get the newer one (even though it might say on their website to get that notarized).

With that said, using the newer one should not present an issue.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

This should not be a problem - they will probably continue to send out the 'old' version until they run out at which time they'll probably begin to use the 'new' version. You however may use the current/new version.
