JFK? Are they still giving out the stamp? I'm heard mixed answers in that regard.

Welcome to your new life. :)

No I went through Pearson and I didn't get a stamp. I didn't really want a stamp. I'd rather not feel like I needed to start looking for a job yet!

I also have been crying 4 out of the previous 5 days, and I am not even done with the interview yet. I empathize with your feelings of sorrow, and hope that tomorrow will be easier for you.

Wow thank you for your post...reading it made me realize just how hard it is going to be to leave. I'm already spending as much time as possible with friends and family, but it just put a new twist to it! Don't get me wrong, just like you I'm sure, I can't wait to be with my guy, but still it's a lot to leave behind and always a bit scary to start with the unknown.

Glad you're there and wish you luck for all that you have to do now! :)

:crying: Your post made me tear up, as I said bye to my Dad tonight and I won't see him again until Christmas, most likely. I'm going home tomorrow and I'll be saying bye to my Mum and Sis too, it's hard everytime. It's so hard, but also so worth it :) Welcome home :D

Oh and that's wierd how they searched your bags... I dunno I had a huge truck full of stuff and they didn't even ask what I had. Also it's odd that they asked where your fiancee's parents are from, how are you supposed to know the town. Anyway it's OK you're here now!

Congrats, love! I know it's hard but you are here now and yay!

Just so you know, I have Fridays off work all summer so if you are feeling lonely, I can meet you in the city in selective areas. I can meet you at the World Trade Center sight, for example. The path train only stops like 5 places.

But any ways, now that the good byes are over, try not to think about them too much. You will see your family again relatively soon (not soon enough for most of us i know). You will think about them every day like all of us do...but you are here now :)

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Thanks everyone. I feel much better today and it was really nice to wake up with my fiance knowing that I'm not leaving! I'm starting to get used to the fact that my family is in Toronto and I am here.

I don't think my POE people were in training, I think they were just bored. It was really dead in there. I did see what is in that sealed envelope though, it's our original i-129F packet with the forms we have to bring to the interview as well. The guard I had was flipping through it and asking me random questions from the information.

Congrats, love! I know it's hard but you are here now and yay!

I would love to meet up on a Friday!! I can totally meet you wherever. I know exactly where the PATH train stop is down by the WTC. We can always go to my fave place right by there - Century 21!!! Yay I'm excited, can't wait to meet you Amanda :)

I just wanted to clarify that I meant try not to think about the goodbyes..not about your family. I'm not that much of an arsehole.

I got the I-94, but not the EAD stamp. The EAD stamp is rarely given out anymore from what I've read. Someone just got it at the Detroit tunnel, but they had to ask about it. I honestly didn't even think to ask when I was there, and I didn't want it anyways. I plan to take the summer off :star:

Oh nice I didn't know we could maybe still have it. We'll be crossing at the Detroit/Windsor bridge or in Sarnia but if Detroit give the employment stamp, then we might cross there.

No work tomorrow for me since my last day was Friday. It's all about packing now :(
