Well peeps, today is the big day... I'm flying to NYC this afternoon. I can even begin to explain how overwhelmed I feel. I am so happy and excited, yet so sad to be leaving my family.

I said goodbye to my sister and nephew last night and my nephew was crying and of course I cried. Then this morning I said good bye to my Dad before he left for work and he was also crying. I didn't expect him to, but he did. That of course set me off again.

I'm trying really hard not to cry writing this. I hope I really don't lose it at the airport when I say good bye to my Mom. We're really close.

Anyways, think of me today and I'll update again when I'm the other side!

Thanks for all the support this far :)

Have a good trip Sapphire! Welcome to America, you're new life starts :)

If you're too sad, you can tell yourself that your family is not too too far and they could come visit you soon.

You turn a page but when you'll see him at the airport, it's going to be great!

Have a safe flight and don't forget your 20 bags ;)

Hope the flight isn't too long, and there are no delays. Just one nice smooth journey!!

I can't even begin to imagine how I will feel when it's my turn. I'm only looking at about 2 1/2 months more to go! You'd think I would have everything in boxes waiting to ship down, but if I do that now...seems like it will make it more real.

The real funny part of it for me was realizing I'll only need a ONE WAY ticket to the States!! What went through your mind with that? I'm so used to returns!

You're not gone from Canada forever. You might just even get your AP this year! Maybe plan to go home for Christmas? Or see if your family can come visit you in your new home?? That would be fun!!

Definitely update us!! I'd like to know how your POE went, as well as those first few days and all!

The big day is finally here! I can only imagine all the emotions you're feeling. I have exactly 1 week until the big move and I'm already bursting out into tears! That last day is going to be so hard. Good luck on the journey and I can't wait to hear about it when you arrive!

saft travels to you!

reading your post reminded me of how excited/sad/happy/scared etc., I was when I moved. For some reason I felt like I needed to be the driver as we left. I have no idea how we made it out of town as I was crying so hard I could hardly see! That, and getting pulled over by 3 different police friends didn't help! LOL!

Well, I'm here! Saying goodbye was really the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I can't explain the emotions, wow.

My POE wasn't really that easy, or as easy as I thought it would be I should say. The person in secondary asked me a lot of random questions and they searched all my bags - which was extremely annoying more than anything because all I had was clothes and shoes and I had 3 huge bags. Also, it took like 10 tries to get my fingerprints to work and the woman was getting really annoyed (as was I). She asked me things like "Do you have any kids?" and then I would say No and then she would ask "Are you sure?" Umm, yes I'm sure. She actually asked me what city my fiance's parents were from in the Phillippines and I honestly didn't know... so that was a bit awkward. I guess they were just trying to do their job, but it was a bit nerve wracking and I'm glad its over with!

Also, I was the only one in secondary when I went in and the entire thing took about an hour and I didn't wait at all, so perhaps that is why they asked me so many questions and searched my bags... slow day...

Anyways, I'm very glad to be here and happy that part is over with! Once the AOS is done and I get my bank account, SSN and such I think I'll start to feel at home!

Thanks for all the nice notes, it really is so nice to talk to people going through the same process.
