"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

MENA --- Moroccans, Egyptians, 'n', Algerians?

(of course that misses out all the Jordanians, Tunisians, Iraqis, Palestinians, Lebanese..... ;) )

Q: MENA doesn't necessarily mean Arab/Muslim, right? It can include others from the regions - Turks, Persians, Kurds, Christian Arabs? What about Israelis? I have Israeli citizenship and lived there for about 12 years... do I get to be an honorary MENA too?

I already participate in the Thai threads (Sawasdee3 and Thailand) and in the Canadian regional forum (I am Canadian and lived there most of my life). So adding MENA would make my triple-crown of regional forums. C'mon gang, whadda ya say/

You do not have to be a Muslim or any other religion to be a participating member here! (F) Lordy, I think we might even have some space aliens that post here from time to time. :P

I'm "conFUzzzzeddd" though, are you the USC and your SO is immigrating from where? :P:lol: You have tooo many citizenships...plz pick a side man, pick a side! :P

Then finally, if you wanna join our crazy, disFUNctional crew, you need to be like Charles! and offer some type of contribution to our daily threads...Charles is our "honorary" MENA girl, ummm, I mean guy. :P:devil:

*waving hello* and a welcome to the self proclaimed "triple-crowned" Israeli, Thai, Canadian poster! (F) Post carefully, some of us bite! :P:rofl:

Thanks Nawal. Your kids are just adorable!!

Charles seems happy to post everywhere ... he's always hunting for Timbits in the Canada forum, and I see him on PI as well. He hasn't come by our Thai threads, but I have a theory about that. See -- Canada, PI, MENA are all full of the ladies. The Thai threads are mostly just us fat-azzed guys. No wonder Charles is happier being sole guy in a crowd of delightful women. N00b that I am, I'm just following along in his footsteps ;) .

Ok, I realize my profile seems very confuzzing with my various identities. I am the USC, my fiancee is Thai and we're having our K-1 interview on June 29, wish us luck! If all goes well we'll be celebrating 4th of July together at Navy Pier in Chicago!

I was born in the US (Long Island NY) to Canadian parents - hence I have US citizenship via birth in the US as well as Canadian citizenship from birth, registered as Canadian born abroad. My Dad was doing his postdoc in NY, and shortly after I was born they returned to Canada. So I grew up in Canada, went to school there, and did my undergrad university there. My mom though was born in Israel and we have lots of family there. So I went there to do my MSc at the Technion in Haifa, met my first wife there, got married there, became an Israeli citizen, and lived there for about a dozen years on and off. We wound up going back and forth between Israel, Canada and the US several times throughout the marriage. The marriage ended in a bad divorce a year ago, and my ex is now in Brazil (her native country) with my 3 kids. So the kids actually have 4 passports - US, Canada, Israel, Brazil.

Don't worry if you're confused -- sometimes I get confused too!

The upshot is that after the divorce I decided I wanted to live in the US, and feel more American than anything else right now. I met my honey online and figured that having Canada, US, Israel, Brazil in the family story just wasn't eclectic enough,so time to add a Thai angle to it as well.

Nice to meet you all (I already know Sister Nagi very well from the n00bz OT thread, of course).

Here's a photo of Thanti and me at our Buddhist ceremony in Bangkok last Sept.

That's a lovely picture of you and your fiance! And of course you are welcome to MENA anytime! Israel is definitly a part of the Middle East!!! Not only that, but you have some GREAT responses on these threads....you're quick as a whip! Which is great to have around these parts!

I wasn't sure anyone could have as many citizenships as we do in our family. I think you have us beat. I have two, my hubby two, my son two. American, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Jamaica (yes Jamaica, hee hee  ). Anyhow, glad to have ya!!
