I've been searching the archives to figure out the process in Manila and how to avoid delays, and I'd appreciate if someone could verify what I think I've learned. My NOA2 was may 13 and NVC (603-334-0700) sent the docs to Manila May 18 and gave me my case number. However, the Department of State(202-663-1225) says the docs have not arrived in Manila yet. My finance and I are already collecting all the necessary paperwork, but I'm looking to avoid delays on the medical an interview.

The medical can be done at any time, no appointment needed as long as you have a MNL case number from the NVC right?

I can schedule the interview as soon as our case papers arrive the embassy and are processed right?. Do they send any electronic notification of this or is it just the the papers sent to the beneficiary? Is it just a link to http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf or is there more to it?

The earliest interview date they will normally give is about a month after I call right? But if the medical is done and I call again they might make it sooner?

If anyone can answer/confirm/deny any of that I'd appreciate it. I know I should probably just be patient, but, well, I'm not doing so good with that ;) Thanks.

just call the embassy call center after 2 wks u receive your NVC... they will ask your email add or your fiancee's email add... they will send your confirmation number, the date of interview you choose... once u get their email, print it out, make it 3 copies.

1st copy - ( should be done 2 wks before interview) present to the guard @ the ground floor area of St. lukes a print out copy of confirmation number together with passport n 1 visa photograph...

2nd copy... copy for US interview ( since US embassy manila no longer sends information packet, they will stamp your confirmation letter) they have dates for interview and they will let you choose what date you want

3rd copy .. personal copy

TRY Calling the embassy again.. ur case left NVC earlier than our case...so it might be in their system already

The medical can be done at any time, no appointment needed as long as you have a MNL case number from the NVC right?

BRING THE LETTER FROM NVC (when i had my medical almost everyone presented that letter...)BUT i presented my APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION LETTER.. some also use their NOA2.. as long as u have ur MNL number.. ul be ok

Hmmm. I just got a pin and called the embassy. They received our case May 20, but 19 days later they are still checking the papers so we are not eligible to schedule an interview yet. Oh well, guess I'll have to be patient. Thanks for the info. I guess we can get the medical done at least. Looks like that department of state number doesn't know if your papers have arrived at the embassy, only (I assume) if they have arrived and been fully processed.
