New Denver USCIS Office

My wife and I made the 15 minute drive to the new Denver District office today to ask a few questions about the naturalization document checklist they sent. We were blown away by how nice and modern the new office is. Imagine being able to sit down across from an immigration officer during an InfoPass appointment instead of having to stand and talk to someone behind a window. It was a much more welcoming and comfortable environment that we're used to. We arrived at 9:55 AM for a 10 AM appointment and our number was called immediately after we checked in. Including going through security, we were in and out in less than ten minutes.

Which office did you go to - the Centennial office near Arapahoe? We went there for my wife's interview and it seems to be only partially being used - the parking lot had only 25-30 cars and there were hardly any people in the waiting area - maybe 12 or 15.

Can you enlighten us on what information you got during your visit? Anything useful or specific?

We went to the local office in Centennial. It's the only one open in the Denver area at this point. The parking situation was like night and day compared to the old office (i.e. plenty of parking instead of having to hope a spot on the street frees up before your appointment time.

We went in because the 800 line told me that we would have to produce a letter from the IRS stating that the form 1722 referenced on the Naturalization Interview checklist was no longer available. The immigration officer we talked to said as long as we had proof that we had filed our taxes for the past three years, we were fine. I was pretty sure that was the answer we were going to get, but the office is not far from where we live, so I figured it was a good excuse to go over and check it out before my wife's interview next month.
