Inconsistancy in notice between AOS and EAD

Well, I received finger printing failure notice (and redo of biometrics) for my AOS application in mail. Yet I also received an email saying that EAD card production ordered on the same day. Does that mean that EAD card can be made without biometrics? Or biometrics for EAD part went well yet one for AOS failed?

I don't understand. So weirdo... Has anyone experienced this sort of inconsistency?

It sounds like the fingerprints for the EAD were ok but the ones for the AOS weren't.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Maybe the EAD people accidentally deleted the electronic file when they were using it.

Or maybe the EAD card production people found the file wasn't suitable and that actually generated the re-do. Who knows?

It is weird and sounds like somebody goofed up and you're stuck sorting it out.

More likely to be that they were able to use the fingerprint for the EAD card but FBI check cant be done because the print is not good enough for the FBI to do there trace...

Ha!

That's so strange... if that's the case. Does this kind of thing happen to many? Or only to me? Anyways, I'll try to do walk in (2nd) biometrics on Monday. Thanks all.

I've heard of numerous people whose fingerprints didn't work properly and they had to go re-do, but don't think I've noticed if EAD was okay and AOS not. TayRivers' explanation sounds like a good one.

Just want to report the result...

I could walk in ASC in NYC and get my 2nd fingerprinting done there. Yey!

But the guy who fingerprinted me wasn't sure if I still have to go to Syracuse or not for the 2nd FP. I so~ hope not. We'll wait and see...
