Welcome to VisaJourney.

You posted your question in "Off Topic", which is where all the crazy people on this website hang out.

Just ignore almaty (the marmaduke guy), he didn't take his meds this morning.

You are fine. You can marry your honey anywhere you like. If it is a legally recognized marriage in the country where you marry, it will be recognized in the US and by your state of residence at home. Your own status as an American is not affected at all.

You will probably be thinking about where you want to live after you marry - in your fiance's country, or in America. If you want to live in America and bring your new husband home with you, you will find this website very useful - at least the immigration forums. The Off Topic stuff is, as I said, just for the crazies.

Well thanks!

The crazies do scare me...lol hhahahahahaa. :D

To be honest we are probably going to be living together in his home country, that's where we are living together now. But eventually we would like to ahve a wedding ceremony in the US, and if im not mistaken takes a visitor's visa to do so. Some information is very discouraging, becuase of sterotyping and racism, he and I iare going have a very difficult time with this visitor visa. Anythings that may help us, as a married couple?

After reading about the USCIS BS, elected to get married here by a federal judge. He was really nice and refused to take any money, not even a contribution, but the USCIS more than made up for it. Taking my money, I mean.

In regards to whether the USA recognizes a marriage in a foreign country, depends upon the country, they recognize some, others they don't, all politics.

In regards to being a traitor, at one time you were considered to be a traitor if you purchased anything made in a foreign country, today you have no choice as nothing is made here anymore.

In regards to finding your soulmate, the entire universe should be open to you, but the USCIS doesn't look at it that way. You are automatically convicted of fraud to bring a person into this country, so spend the next five years of your life trying to proof your innocence.
