Even if he he could get the police clearance from Uk, he cannot show it to consulate in Ghana because he is under a diff name.please i need help on what to do. Thanks in advance

Sounds like he needs to go back to Ghana. Or go to the Ghanaian consulate. Either way he is illegally there. So he probably has to go back to Ghana, and I would imagine he needs to go back their anyway for the interview

Correct me if I'm wrong, because I don't want to mislead the OP.

Your fiance should go back to Ghana and request the police certificate from there. He will have to go back to Ghana for your eventual interview, anyway.

Go read the instructions for requesting a police certificate from UK. It asks for "proof of current residence." Have your fiance prove that his current residence is GHANA. Have him apply for the certificate under his REAL name, under which there will be no record in the UK and therefore no criminal charges (which I hope there's not anyway) on record.

This is incorrect - many people have their interview in the country they reside in, not necessarily the country they are a citizen of.

@emmaline_g

You certainly have a rocky road ahead of you and I wish you much luck resolving this. You might benefit from at least a consultation with a qualified family-based immigration attorney before beginning your Visa Journey. :thumbs:

Yes I am aware that many people have their interview in a country other than the one where they're a citizen, but the OP said her fiance is in the UK illegally. For all practical purposes he does not exist in the UK, and I do not think it is likely he will get his interview there, especially if the OP filled out the paperwork requesting the interview in Ghana.

@me? Karin und Otto, You are saying I will have a difficult Visa Journey, or did you mean to talk to the OP? I don't believe at all that my own situation is difficult, there are multiple posters on here who have the same situation as myself or the OP and they successfully navigated the process.

Should have been directed at the OP/smithandtracy (copy/pasted wrong name)... :blush:
