I am having difficulty getting the information to fit in the forms when printed. When I look at the dates there is a "+" sign that blocks the date. The same happens on other fields too. I called the USCIS help line and was told that I could not convert the pdf files to word. Even though the forms look identical I was told they would be rejected. The USCIS help line said print them out and fill them in by hand.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get the data to fit when it is printed out? I don't want to have to hand write 8 pages (4 pgs for each).

Thanks,

Tom

User a free sofware called Foxit Reader (http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/). This allows you to do more than Adobe reader. You may also need this in future when you have to file DS-230 since in reguar reader the data of this form is not saved. With Foxit you will able to save data entered in DS-230 form.

Is Foxit really free? Not the free version I downloaded and tried on my computer, then it told me I needed the latest version of Adobe Reader to open a USCIS form.

USCIS recommended format for the date for like June 8, 2009 is "06/08/2009", that always fits.

Another trick is to use a word processor that has arial narrow with font sizes, type that and cut it out with a steel ruler and a X-acto knife so it fits perfectly in the blank and literally paste it on. When making a copy, can't even tell the difference if the copy machine is clean. Most public copying machines I have seen are loaded with toner dust.

We got a Kodak ESP 7 for 150 bucks with a scanner and an excellent color photographic printer for our last set of USCIS forms, does a darn good job. Presenting a very neat form helps to prevent rejection, and that can really be expensive. That Kodak is collecting dust now, but was well worth it compared to the USCIS fee prices.
