Hi, I have a question.

My wife and me married about 9 years ago in our country. My wife was born in US so we applied for my green card and I got my permanent green card about 3 years ago. Due immigration process she had to move to US a year before me and when I moved here 3 years ago I found out that she has boyfriend and no more she wants to live with me.

I just found a job and stayed away of her but we didn't get divorce because we have some shared properties in our country and we need to decide about them later.

we have also something like car insurance or phone bill common but our tax return and home address is different.

She believes that I can apply for my citizenship and she comes with me and says that we were together. But I don't like to say any lie.

So, what do you think? can I apply for my citizenship now or I need to wait two more years for that.

Thank you

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear your marriage didn't work out the way you wanted it.

As for the N-400 application - you better wait until you meet the 5 year requirements. Lying about your residence (that you both lived together) is definitely not a good idea! If found out you'll lose your status als LPR.

You won't lose anything if you wait for 2 more years before applying for citizenship.

Best wishes for your future! :star:
