My fiancee has lived in quite a few places between california, boston and orlando (current) over the last few years like maybe 6-7 due to rent ending and changing roomates and stuff. I was wondering if this would cause a delay in the processing as were approaching 5 months yet no word. Anyone else in a similar situation or might know anymore info?

01/08/2009 - POSTED NOA1 to VSC

01/13/2009 - RECEIVED NOA1, Case Pending

02/06/2009 - TOUCHED - Finacee moved so I presume that was the reason for it

05/20/2009 - Contacted Congressman's Alan Grayson's Offices to ask for assistance on our case, He agrees

06/13/2009 - 5 months and nothing, not even from our congressman :( Were is our NOA2!!!!!!

06/16/2009 - Our congressman actually made contact us for the first time in 4 weeks only to tell us they had written our address down wrong so here we are, still stuck in limbo with not a clue what's happenening

06/17/2009 - Called NVC on a off chance they might have it and they do!!!!! Woop woop. All we need now is that hard copy and were set!

06/17/2009 - NVC send our visa and petition to the london embassy - My packet 3 is on the way, woop woop!

06/19/2009 - Recieved NOA2 in the post, dated 06/11/2009. The panicing is over.....for now

07/01/2009 - Reeceived Packet 3 in the post, woop woop

It should not really affect it to much, have you tried to contact USCIS to see what the status is?

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

we haven't contacted USCIS directly but weve been told that what we see and hear from the phone lines is all they will tell us regardless of the situation. Also my congressman has looked into our case but no word from him in 2 weeks despite me e-mailing him a few days ago

Having lived in several/many locations over the years will not have an effect - the question is (if I may) is did your fiancé move during the time the petition was submitted? And did he/she submit a change of address with USCIS if he/she did move?

I (the USC) moved during out initial petition period and didn't have any problems.

She has moved during the process and she said that she did, plus there is a touch or update that showed up online on the day that she did it (2/6th). We have a number and the name of the person she spoke to, everything with that seems to be in order

USCIS usually sends a confirmation of the change of address to the new address - hopefully she received this (mine took about 2 weeks to get).

Since the USCIS site doesn't show an RFE nor an Approval then apparently nothing has been missed in the mail and things are simply taking this long - you're due/overdue to be adjudicated so I suspect you'll be hearing something sooner rather than later...

(Your fiancé could call USCIS to ensure they did in fact update the new address.)

What kind of confirmation are you refering to? She got a number from then when she called to change it and it followed pretty quickly with a update on the website about our case but I'm very sure that she didn't get anything in the mail

Honestly a lot of people have been going about 6 months until approval and 6 months is their average according to the govt sites. Telling someone they are long overdue when they are around the average only makes them worry. Try not to worry about it too much, I know it can be hard when you see a lot of people get approved faster than you, cause it happened to me at almost all stages of the process but hang in there. I don't think living in a number of states really would affect the amount of time it takes to get adjudicated, just try and make sure they have the correct address on file. My NOA2 came way after my estimated date even counting a 30 day delay for the RFE so don't count on the VJ estimates to be right on.
