What do you do when there is this lady in the cubicle next to you and she is forever talking on the phone... super loud... and these people come to "meet" with her and they are talking super loud? They all pull higher rank than you and think they are smarter than you, just by virtue of working for a ####### hierarchal, bureaucratic institution of #######.

Doesn't she realize that she is in a cubicle and there is someone right next to her??

Have you seen Wanted? I suggest flipping out and smacking her across the face with your keyboard.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

Haven't seen it, but that's exactly how i feel!!!

But then, wouldn't that make me even more of a barbaric, uncivilized peon, and all the less-deserving to push paper around at their lofty professional level?

Point noted...

But in my defense, every time i try to do substantive work, she is usually talking on the phone loudly (and they are not frequently not business calls).

Good question:

She is a consultant. She ranks higher than me--office drone--but not as high as regular, office lingering fancy pants.

Quite frankly, i don't even know exactly what she does...

There is a difference between ranking higher and being your boss. If she is not your boss then I recommend you watch the movie wanted, as previously suggested. thwack!

If she is your boss a more subtle conniving approach is needed where there is no evidence that can incriminate you.

No, she is definitely not my boss. But she does have an heir of superiority about her, which is also annoying. Her title and pay check are bigger than mine.

Will try to check out the flick you mentioned.

Really, i would just like to say, "Excuse me, can you please be quiet down a little?"

But you would be surprised how people can take offense to even that much!
