Working for Immigration

I would like a job like that, well, it has to do with law, I am a law graduate (didn´t pass my bar so I am not a lawyer) and I´ve always wanted to work with international law, you have to be a citizen though, maybe if I ever get citizenship I can apply.

Or for an agency such as Catholic Community Charities that assist immigrants.

When I took Russian 101 this last spring, my instructor was a Ukrainian woman who also worked for a Jewish agency that assisted refugees in their new home. She mentioned, more then once, how these people became very dependant on her and EXPECTED her to do everything! "Take me here" and "Make an appointment for me with these people on this date", certainly at first this is understandable but there is a point where they need to do for themselves!

Noble idea, the people you help might expect more then you are expecting to give!

I don't find the folks working in immigration to be particularly happy about their jobs most of the time, so I don't know if they feel all that fulfilled. I always wondered if you could actually get a job there while they process your fiance/spouse's petition and get it done yourself

I work for a U.S. Member of Congress, and our immigration staffer helps a lot of folks through the process. That's another way to go, so check into working for your Representative or Senators.

I have applied to a few jobs, most of them do only want us citizens!!!!

I am sure there must be some that you can apply to-can't hurt go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY Sister in law is from Iran, she lived in the USA for a long time now, she had to give up her Iranin citizinship, but she know works at an Air Force Base for the goverment.

I think it just depends on what department youd like to go into:)
