GC Lost in the Mail

Of all the places for this whole process to break down - how about 10 feet from your front door?

Ok - so my wife and daughter got approved for their AOS and got the approved notifications along with the "we have ordered production of your new green cards" letter - yay! finally after the last 4 years

So, my wife get's her new GC (after losing her first one AT THE AIRPORT IN VENEZUELA BETWEEN CHECK-IN AND SECURITY - OMG - what a nightmare that was!!!) and now we just need my daughters - sounds simple right?

Well - since my daughter has a different last name than me (I'll assume this is the source of the problem) - our GENIUS letter carrier from USPS has taken upon himself/herself (a guy on the week shift/ lady on the weekends) that since either they can't read or won't read the label on the inside of our mailbox (that CLEARLY has her last name as a valid resident) - they will return any mail sent to her!!!!!! I suspect this is the problem since a few b-day cards addressed to her had ???'s written on them next to her name to suggest they are questioning "does this person live here?" The thing that really gets me is they have had no problem delivering mail to her before - so why start screwing with it now? I can think of other letters I would rather not have gotten.

Moron's I swear - not ONCE, BUT TWICE ALREADY!!!! Made an infopass early last month and was told her new GC was shipped a SECOND TIME back in April. Called and verified they had the correct address on file, yes, they do, it never changed, not in the 4 years since we started this.

And before you ask, yes I have went to the local USPS office, asked for the letter carrier supervisor, explained politely what the problem was and filled out a complaint form. Also even waited for BOTH carriers to speak to them personally - of course - I got finger pointing to each other "Oh, I haven't returned anything from your address, must have been the weekend/weekday carrier"

So, do i have yet? Nope. nothing. nada. zip. :ranting: :ranting:

So, now I have a battle of wills between two government agencies. Somehow, I think I'll be the loser here.

Need a second or third opinion on what I might try next. Sure, I could wait - but my real concern is that immigration will give up on trying to send the new GC.

** I will apologize in advance to anyone reading this that works for USPS - it's not the organization as a whole that is at fault, but a few individuals.
