Actually the truth is that we really don't know. There's a lot about our biological conditioning that isn't understood - for example, noone really knows for sure how babies learn language.

Yeap, there is more we don't know about what makes our bodies and minds tick than there is stuff we do know.

Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles. ..."

I don't see any significant change in the statements. Both acknowledge that we know little about the actual triggers and both stipulate a biological role in how one is wired.

Why would you want to condemn any behaviour that has no impact on you or your ability to live a safe, happy and productive life? There is no justification for condemnation of homosexuality, any more than there is justification for condemnation of any other activity that harms no one.
