Can i just add something completely off topic?

Brother Shooter, while i respect your choice of siggy pics, and certainly to each his or her own,

i just want to note that the woman in your signature doesn't look like she should be holding a sign that reads anything about: "Big A$$"

i'm sorry, i had to say it.

'Gay' gene claim suddenly vanishes

American Psychological Association revises statement on homosexuality

"The term 'homophobia' is often used inaccurately to describe any person who objects to homosexual behavior on either moral, psychological or medical grounds," NARTH explains. "Technically, however, the terms actually denotes a person who has a phobia – or irrational fear – of homosexuality. Principled disagreement, therefore, cannot be labeled 'homophobia.'"

as usual, nothing of value to say.

Why do you both have to bring logic into this thread? why???? :bonk:

Funny how you say this in pretty much every thread you don't agree with.

Funny how you say "funny how you say..." whenever you're having a moan. Which is most of the time.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Try to say something of importance.

Yipee, more WorldNetDaily drivel. :P

Come on people, just get it through your heads..... gays choose to be gay, there is no biological drive behind it.

Thats a sweet debate tactic you use..... if you don't like the APA dropping a statement on something.. you blame the reporting of it.

well, not really my taste, but you have to admit she is kinda cute. in any case, it's the message, rather than the messenger, that counts. hard principle for libs in this forum to understand.

stole the pic from a recent thread in this forum. kudos to the OP.

Actually the truth is that we really don't know. There's a lot about our biological conditioning that isn't understood - for example, noone really knows for sure how babies learn language.

Yeap, there is more we don't know about what makes our bodies and minds tick than there is stuff we do know.

I heard that.

Specifically, in a brochure that first came out about 1998, the APA stated: "There is considerable recent evidence to suggest that biology, including genetic or inborn hormonal factors, play a significant role in a person's sexuality."

However, in the update: a brochure now called, "Answers to Your Questions for a Better Understanding of Sexual Orientation & Homosexuality," the APA's position changed.

The new statement says:

"There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles. ..."

I don't see any significant change in the statements. Both acknowledge that we know little about the actual triggers and both stipulate a biological role in how one is wired.

But what does one expect from World Nut Daily?

There isn't much to say. The article is clearly politically motivated

Why would you want to condemn any behaviour that has no impact on you or your ability to live a safe, happy and productive life? There is no justification for condemnation of homosexuality, any more than there is justification for condemnation of any other activity that harms no one.

I am going to start an organization to condemn the ginge, seeing as their hair colour is unnatural.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

One would expect WND to run with a story which counters the claims of many ignorant people (the claim has even been made here... unchallenged).

Why do you hate freedom of the press?
