Your kidding right. Much more reliable sources out there

What's wrong with those?

I dont know the second news source but Al Jazeera come on. I have on more than on one occasion shook my head on how they reported something and long ago wrote them off as horrible news source. You wouldnt actually consider them a good reliable news source would you? fruitcakelady did put a wacko smiley next to it so I kind of think she was thinking the same thing, I hope so anyways.

Example/s please.

Here's the front page of their website - looks on a par with other major news networks. I don't see what makes them a "horrible news source".

Same news, different perspective.

There anti-American/Israel bias for starters, I dont remember exact stories but I do remember shaking my head after 9/11 on how and what stories they were covering.

You never answered the question though, do you consider them a good reliable news source?

I don't see why they aren't any more or less reliable than Fox or CNN etc...

I've said many times that TV news is the worst way to inform yourself about what's going on. That applies here too.

Saying that the thread is about TV news..

There is just no way I could compare CNN to Al Jazeera as having some sort of equal bias in there own ways.

About TV news, I dont think that its the worst way to inform yourself about whats going on. I think that if want to go in depth on certain issue like Obamas health care plan then I would highly recommend turning on your pc and doing some research. As far as getting accurate news I think CNN is just fine.

Major TV networks cover (at most) half a dozen major stories in a half hour news broadcast. Do you honestly think that there are only a half a dozen stories that ought to be discussed and talked about on a given day?

Why not?

Because of there obvious bia I saw post 9/11. Alot of the issues came up on the non English side of Al Jazeera.

I think the 6 stories a day is a horrible estimation. CNN headline news covers way more than that, not all stories but way more than 6. I keep up with local news too and watch local news. I have no interest to know all news, just way too much going on out there. I think they do a good job at covering the important stories.

So you're only interested in news content that's biased towards your world view?

Well if you don't believe me - you can watch a news broadcast and count the number of stories covered in a 30 - 60 minute slot (it ain't a whole lot). TV news carries the least analysis and least variety of content than compared with any other form of conventional media. That isn't my opinion - its a fact. You simply can't convey in the space of a single hour the full breadth of coverage that you'd get in say, a newspaper.

As to doing a good job at covering the "important stories" - who defines what stories are important and newsworthy?

That's a rhetorical question BTW.

No I perfer total accurate no bias news but I will never get that and I feel that CNN in this sense is better source than Al Jazeera.

Next time I am watching headline news I will make a mental note.

None of the poll outlets are news agencies.

They are "infotainment" with their own biases insofar as anything I would consider "news".

If you take away the commercials, the stupid "man bites dog", the missing blonde upper class princess, sports, and ,movie star sex scandals what is left?

About two sentences:

Republicans say this, Democrats say that, we are a stenographer for the parties and not a thinking news outlet so we cannot say that both are obviously lying...
