Hi VJ family...

The 23rd annual Philippine Festival is this weekend at Seattle Center. Pagdiriwang is the biggest festival of Filipino arts and culture in the Pacific Northwest.

It is an opportunity for Filipinos and kanos alike to enjoy Pinoy culture. You will enjoy art, crafts, song, dance, music, history, literature, and, of course, food.

Here are the links for the Seattle Pagdiriwang...

PS...if you don't know where Seattle Center is located...just go to the Space Needle and look around for all of the Filipinos.

Hi Chantel...

Wow...that would be a long drive...about four hours. But it would be worth it. You may want to make it an overnighter, and attend Pagdiriwang for two days!

Most of the Filipinos I've met around here are Ilocano...however, I work with a guy from Baguio who is Igorot (and speaks an Igorot dialect). I also met an Igorota who is fluent in an Igorot dialect. Pagdiriwang should be a great chance for you to meet fellow Igorots since there will be a focus on their culture.

There is also another Filipino celebration in Seattle. I believe it's the first Saturday in August. It takes place at Seward Park on Lake Washington. There's lots of Filipino food and music. The name of that celebration is Pista Sa Nayon.

Hope you can make it.
