in cuba is in spanish do I have this translated ?

My hotel receipts are from Dominican Republic, I just listed "Hotel receipt from Barcelo etc.... on the table of contents page"

No. Only official, required documents (a divorce certificate foir example) need to be translated

pick up his divorce papers there being translated . I will ck back with you guys

But you are making a "leap" and providing a definition to the OP that is simply not there to be made.... it does not say only REQUIRED evidence needs be translated... It says ANY... Your asking them to do something that they are not required to do. If you want a foreign language document considered, be it a hotel receipt, a McDonald's receipt, a divorce decree or a marriage certificate, it had better be translated. If you are not willing to have it translated then you are better off simply not providing it because it is probably being ignored. We all know how government employees work. They will not go out of there way to do something that is not required of them depiste what a pragmatist might do.

In the end, if you are relying only on a hotel receipt or a McDonald's receipt to make your "case" then you got bigger problems

agreed!!

this is the US government we are talking about here, and we know what kind of people is working at USCIS... so have it translated into English so that the agent who is working on your file can read it, if not then bring it to the interview, because the embassy/consulate VO's should know both languges if not then they have translators there..

OK, I shall retract my "definition" and state that if the OP has the required documents, the usual "English" proof of travel (passport stamps, boarding passes and photos) then incidental receipts, untranslated, serve as "gravy" and can do no harm.

No defense for government employees here. I will state I did provide untranslated "evidence" along with a stack of other things and we had no problem. I cannot say for sure they gave much weight to the untranslated admission tickets to the Kiev Botanical Gardens, or the reciept for cosmetics from the Aptika, but they were there in the stack.
