Hi VJ'ers,

I lost my EAD last week, I know i definitley need a replacement work permit but i am in the 6 months timeframe for a renewal, So i made an infopass appointment to hand in my !-765 application for the 13th July, It would seem idiotic to pay for a replacement and a renewal, I maybe i'm answering my own question here, But i am just applying for the renewal at the office, Then i am hoping i will get issued an interim EAD until my renewed EAD comes, Has anyone did this before? I know i have applied for my EAD here once before (3rd one) and i received my EAD shortly after, $180.00 for the application, Do i need to do biometrics again at the same office? (Another $70.00 fee)????

My attorney was going to apply for me, But i thought i would skip that as i have done this 3 times over, And it went like clockwork, It does not state that i need biometrics again for a renewal, I'm thinking just a case of taking my cheque book incase they do apply the $70.00 fee.

I do have photocopies of my original EAD, My question is ~

Will they issue me a temp EAD until my renewed EAD arrives? Actually another question too, Does the $70.00 Bio fee apply too?

Thanks in advance

I don't think you can apply for a new card at your local office but will have to send the application to the Chicago lockbox instead. So I doubt that they will issue you the interim EAD based on the new application - maybe if you are lucky you'll get one based on your lost EAD. A renewal EAD requires fingerprinting again but for there is no biometrics fee.

Thank for the heads up!

Maybe i will E-file for my EAD renewal, And keep my infopass appointment for advice on a replacement EAD or an interim EAD, If i am up for a renewal, Then a replacement fee would be buy 2 for the price of 2, I tried called immigration to report my lost card but by the time i get in from work, I'm on hold for an hour, Then they close for the day
