Question about Infopass

ENJOY EACH OTHER'S COMPANY. LATER ON WHEN YOUR FIANCEE GETS BACK TO HIS OR HER COUNTRY, YOU CAN

SCHEDULLE AN INFOPASS APPOITMENT ON YOUR DAY OFF FROM WORK.

This is true. The local office has nothing to do with case processing. You will likely not get beyond the window. The clerk there will check her computer, exactly as you can on yours, then tell you some made story like they do on the telphone. You can ask for ascending layers of supervisors that will do the same thing. When you leave, you will have exactly NO new, accurate information.

I liked the Infopass appointment, although it really didn't give much more information to us than what we already knew. The officer that we talked to was asking if Peter was already living here... which really makes me wonder WHAT they do... are they doing their job? Of course, he doesn't live here yet and you would think that they would know that. I laughed and told her that I had just picked him up at the airport the night before. Then I questioned her too... why would he be living here already if our case hasn't been approved? She said that there is a "oops we didn't know" form... I guess that it can be filled out if the person has moved here without finishing the process and the petitioner/benificiary can ask forgiveness because they didn't know better. My jaw about hit the ground. I explained to her that all along we have been trying to do this the "legal" and right way. She asked if he was going to stay, and I told her that he had a flight home on July 5.

... and he did fly home on the 5th. This time it was so much harder to say goodbye because we have no clue when our case will go through.... Before we were expecting the normal process 6 months to a year.... and we were mistaken. Now we don't know what to expect.
