yea its a really nice hotel. set up just like the holiday inn. king size bed in the center, large closet, make up desk, sofa to chill, small fridge, and the bathroom is beautiful. the location is awesome. its at the end of Ba Huyen Than Quang, so it right off Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and Cach Mang Thang Tam. you can go basically anywhere in saigon since its so close. i wouldnt say is a 4 or 5 star. maybe not even a 3 but the quality of the room and service is really up there. i'd say its the best hotel i stayed in during my trip in vietnam and i stayed at 6 different hotels

320,000-400,000 Dong is pretty good per night for a renovated place in Saigon. I only stayed in 1 hotel during the whole time I've been here whenever I first got here, it's called Que Huong- Liberty hotel. It's decent and I think it's rated 3-4 stars but I would rate it 2.5 stars. Sorry I don't know much about hotels in Saigon. I only know the hotels in District one that I see all the time. I've been living in a condo 30 mins from the heart of saigon so there isn't really any need for me to go to a hotel. From what i've seen I would prefer to stay in District 1 because it's a good location and walking distance to a lot of things.

I don't like the hotels that we were at from my first trip. I want a little more westernize because I want to introduce my wife to a little bit of westernize style living. As far as stars goes, I just think that I would get a better service from higher stars. THAT'S IT, NOTHING ELSE :thumbs: heheh

My fiancee's cousin just finished building a hotel, but it's in Tan Phu district - probably a little too far west for you. I have no idea what the rates are because we don't have to pay! :P

I've always done the same place down in District 1. Good, clean, reasonable price, and convenient. Nothing plush, but consistent. Unfortunately all my biz travel points are with Hilton and Intercontinental (Holiday Inn, etc.) and there hasn't been one in HCMC or I defintely would have splurged.

Let her pick one that she thinks is the nicest. Of course if it isn't what she thinks it ought to be you can still get blamed for not telling her to avoid it. :) Aint married life grand?

hahhaha EXACTLY MY POINT. I want her to choose one so later if she doesn't like it, I might get away from getting blame for it or maybe LESS FLAME for it. hahah I guess she've found one. It is "Tan Son Nhat Hotel". Sounds like it a big place and pretty nice people she said. I guess TAN SON NHAT it is.
