Hey All

Besides what the consulate says in mandatory (i.e. Express Post envelope, any original docs not send to NVC ) etc.. What do you bring to the interview?

A few pics from the wedding? Letters? I don't want to overpack, but don't want to miss anything either.

Suggestions are appreciated.

The sponsor's 2008 tax return. Umm, that is all I can think of at the moment.

Is that what he would have put this this year for a refund? For the 2008 tax year?

I brought EVERYTHING! And I think most people do! It's better to be safe than sorry.

All I was asked for was: Interview letter, husband's 2008 taxes that were filed (all pages I printed from online when he filed), and 2 passport photos. That's it!

I brought...TOO MUCH :) Every copy of every paper I sent in, pictures, extra passport pictures, everything I had was tabbed just in case they needed it, copies of documents I sent in, all NVC stuff, all USCIS stuff, extra marriage cert., etc.

It's good to be prepared, I just put it all in a nice folder, but had the things I mentioned above that I KNEW they'd ask for on top of all my piles!

You'll do great! It's WAY easier than I thought and I wasn't nervous at all! Get there early to be first in line, and you'll be out early too. Read CR1 interviews and those helped me to be prepared for certain things, or what to expect.

Good luck! Update us!

I had just noticed from your timeline that you guys submitted the I-864 on February 21st, so I was thinking maybe he hadn't filed his 2008 return yet, at that point? So basically if he sent 2007 with the I-864, ensure he brings 2008 to the interview (also if you have a joint sponsor - get their 2008 return) :)
