Did you send the I-130 and I-485 to the Chicago PO BOX together in same envelope???

If not when you sent the I-485 did you attach a copy of I-130 NOA1 receipt letter???

When NVC sent you I-864 packet and DS-230 packet did you send them back along with $400 Fee??

Looks like you are going to have to travel to home country and interview for the Immigrant visa.

Perhaps they didn't approve your 485 - and in doing so, they default it to the embassy of your home address, in this cas El Salvador.

You would of gotten some sort of notice of that though. You should contact USCIS and make an INFOPASS appointment.

If you don't show up to the interview, they will consider the case abandoned.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS
