My Mother-In-Law has several Condos that she rents near Nana BTS on Soi 13. It is a very nice condo, with internet, pool etc. Normally they go for 1500 - 1700 baht a night. If you give me the dates you are thinking I can see what she has and if she will work a deal for a weekly rate, normally she does.

I know it is a bit higher then what you wanted to pay but it is a very nice place, and reliable internet.

Let me know.

Hey Aaron. Kat and I made a reservation at Honey House 2 for 1 night on the 14th. It's 890/night. We both agreed that if it is decent with reliable internet, we'll probably just book there for the next week or so. If there is something about it we really don't like, then we will be looking for other places. If that does happen, we would probably be open to checking out your mother-in-law's place. That sounds like it is pretty close to the embassy too. Currently, I plan on being in Bangkok from the night of the 14th until ?. Kat might also convince me to come back to Isaan for a little while if she gets the visa so I can say hi/bye to her family again. In that case, I'll probably be staying w/ her at a 400/night hotel near her parent's house (no A/C at her folks place). So, if everything goes well, I might not even be in Bangkok for a straight week anyway. Does your mother-in-law's place have a website, by any chance?

No she just owns a bunch of condos in the building. She is in the Tredny Condos right off of Soi 13. It is a couple SOI's down from where the Honey is. My first trip I stayed at The Key which is a couple of doors down from the Honey, we checked out the rooms there because it was a bit cheaper then where we were staying and they looked good, and had planned to stay there when we got back from Phuket, but then my friend decided he wanted to go higher class and was paying so we stayed in a few suites at The Jasmine. I can PM you her number, and you can call her while you are in BKK if you decide you want to stay there.

The more options the merrier. Sounds good. Thanks!

We ended up staying at the Honey House 2 superior room for 1 night at 960/baht. It was a small room and not the cleanest. We then moved to Som's Guesthouse for 800/night for most of the rest of the trip. The room was very big, and in average condition, but not all the rooms are as nice there. Free internet at both places. BTW, when we went to visit Kat's sister & brother in-law in Pattaya, we stumbled upon a hotel in Pattaya for 380/night with amazing rooms, the best I've seen within 1000 baht+ of that price. for 120 baht more you can get internet access and a slightly bigger room. The bathrooms are HUGE. The biggest I have ever seen in Thailand. I forget the name but I can dig up the business card if anyone want to know.
