Wouldn't the best way to cut costs be to let sick people die?

Not if i have to pay for the clean-up, too.

I'll happily pay for a few flu shots if it'll stop them ending up being treated for pneumonia.

Your logic is flawed. To stop them ending up being treated for pneumonia (a one-time occurence),

are you willing to pay for regular doctor visits, preventive screenings, examinations and lab tests

every few months?

Right, because that's what we all do.

Most people visit the Dr once a year if they are not actually sick for a preventative inspection, and that only if one is on some kind of 'at risk' list either because of hereditary risk, or age risk. Even then, there is no necessity to send absolutely everyone off to get tests and surprise surprise, not everyone does get tested every time.

The bottom line is, only those who are going to get sick, will continue to get sick and if they get sufficiently sick they will be treated and we, as people who pay insurance will pay. All we are doing by disallowing access to preventative medicine is ensuring we pay the most for the least effective treatment.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Cleaning up a corpse is way cheaper than treating the patient.

i don't care. i refuse to pay for it. we have pigeons and vultures and hungry people for that.

They bill people who have no money, who don't pay so the Dr's increase the costs to those who do pay. 'We' who pay our insurance do pay for those who do not.

Who are these people with "no money"? Most people have some assets that debt collectors can go after,

for example a car or a home.

Occasional ER visits are not cheaper than continued access to preventative medicine.

That's what Obama and his ilk keep telling us. I don't buy it.

You're right, that could even solve our child starvation problem.

That's weird, because I watched Bernie Sanders this morning, the member of the Committee that will write the bill in the Senate. He swore up and down the Democrats don't even have a plan yet for the Health Care Legislation. How come nobody told him yet?

Corrected.

You'd be surprised at how many people have net worths less than a thousand bucks.

If we harvest their organs, I we could get more than that.

Presumably because while you lived in the UK every time you went to the Dr's you were prevented from gaining access to health care because of the queues of perfectly healthy people who were continually gumming up the works getting tested for every possible ailment under the sun. :)

If they are young, they don't need healthcare.

If they are old and still have net worths of less than a thousand bucks, I don't want to pay for these losers.
