Sorry for ranting again,

My ead NOA1 came today after we put the wrong date on the check the first time. It was sent on the 26th.

I got an email dated 23rd saying a letter has been sent regarding an rfe for more information for my greencard application. I havent received it yet. I am panicking as this puts our application back a few more weeks. I know if i call the uscis service center i will get nowhere.Does the missouri center have any number to contact them.

Also i did my biometrics already for the AOS. Today in the letter regarding my EAD they said i will be sent for another biometrics.I know when i go back to the manchester USCIS center they are going to tell me that i have it done already. This really sucks. I dont really know what to do. I cant afford to hire an immigration lawyer but i may have to if i dont receive the leter on monday. Sorry for the endless rants i am just desperate as money is running out and its not fair my wife has to be carry the burden. I know everyone goes through this but everything that can go wrong for me is going wrong. I will be lucky t have my EAD by september now and god knows when i will have my greencard.

Sorry, but I don't see at this point how Missouri has screwed up...until you have the RFE you don't know where the trouble lies....

The reason why i am frustrated and disapointed is that my EAD noa1 letter was posted on the 26th and my rfe for the AOS was posted on the 23rd.Its july 2nd and still no rfe. I got the EAD noa1 on saturday. If both were posted from the same place i should have got the rfe first. If it has already been sent onto boston then its even worse as i am in new hampshire. Its 10 days since i got that email regarding the rfe.

I'm getting confused by the boston/new hampshire stuff......

It's typical to have 2 biometrics - one for AOS and one for EAD. Some people get one appointment for both, but your EAD RFE prevented that from happening.

Also, the paper RFE does take a bit of time to arrive. June 23 is the date you received the email for the AOS - not the date it was posted. I'm sure you are running to the mailbox daily looking for it and I think it will be there shortly so hang in there.

I know waiting for your EAD is driving you mad. It took 4 months for Wes to receive his and we had no RFE. I doubt that your wife regards it as burden to be the only one working. I didn't - at least not so far as being upset with my husband. Sure, I was upset with the system, but not him.

galwayman,

The National Benefits Center does not have a phone number available to the general public.

The biometrics for adjustment of status is not the same as the 'biometrics' for employment authorization. Not even when both are done at the same appointment.

galwayman,

Your EA application and your AOS application are not being processed by the same person, perhaps not even by the same group of people.

Sending an e-mail notification and sending the material referenced in the e-mail notification are not done together. Two separate systems. So the date that an e-mail goes out is not an indication of when the material it's notifying you about goes out. And the USPS is pretty good, but it's not perfect - two items sent from the same place, to the same place, on the same day, are not necessarily going to arrive together.

Ok yodrak how does one explain that i havent received my RFE yet. I have checked many timelines on here and when someone receives an rfe email they normally get it a few days later. If my case is been processed in boston who is my local uscis center then it is even worse that it should take this long.It is either lost or they forgot to send it. I have worked long enough for companies to know that something is wrong.

The only part of your application that will be delt with in Boston is the interview.... everything else is delt with in MSC/NBC.... I had to wait 3 weeks from my email talling me about RFE before I got the letter.... try not to panic so much... if you have not received the letter by the end of July then you may want to make an infopass appointment to find out where it has gone....

No letter from USCIS today either :crying: .I rang USCIS yesterday.I explained my story to the lady and she asked me if i had changed address. I said no so she is requesting the rfe to be sent out again.God knows when i will get it. Its annoying as i see plenty of rfe's been sent out on email on peoples timelines on VJ and then ppl receive them a few days later. So why the delay. Why send an email on the 23rd that a notice has been sent to my address and then not send it at all. Tomorrow is my 5 months anniversery in the states since i arrived here.

Sorry for the rant. I just didnt expect it would be this bad for me when i moved here from ireland.

If you called the 0800 number then dont hold your breath waiting for that letter.... most never arrive.... make an infopass appointment and get the immigration officer to sort it out.... the 0800 staff are not immigration officers and can only do very limited things... if anything at all...

It is a total waste of time calling the 0800 nuber you are much better to go and talk to someone at your local office... and Boston are very helpful and you dont have to wait too long to be seen..

Good luck

Kezzie
