My wife's visa interview was scheduled on 2nd june 2006 at 8 am. she went there with my daughter at 6.30 am. thought she was there almost hour and half early there were 17 people infront of her. but i guess she was lucky, it started raining around 7.30 am so the officer in the embassy informed the security gurad to let the people in first who are very old and with kids. My 3 year old daughter then played a very important part to get infront of the line. Fron 17th she moved to 2nd. Then at 8 am they let them in on to the embassy one by one. I would like to suggest all members to check there local embassy'w web site for the visa interview checklist. what happend then was very sad for some people. according to our local embassy interview checklist all IV applicant must bring additional questionear filled at the time of their interview. my wife told me most of the people did not know about it and people from the embassy were telling them to fill out the form right away. some people then agin get behind for the form.

at 8.15 am my wife went for her first interview and finger print. the co was very nice and asked my wife whether she has brought all the documents or not. my wife said yes. then she was busy with the computer for few seconds and asked for the lates tax file return of mine. my wife gave it to her and she did not even loook on the paper and gave back to my wife. then she showed a family picture to my daughter and asked her which one is me on the picture. my daughter alhamdulliah was able to show me on the picture. the she told them to wait for the second interview.

after 4 hours of waiting my wife's was called for the second interview. this time it was a foreign lady and she asked my wife which speaking language she would prefer to speak. she told bangla. then she told my wife to take the oath and sign ds230. after that she wanted to see some pictures. i told my wife to take lot of pictures with her. she gave the co all the pictures. then she asked from where i graduated, where i work now, my current living state, how many times i went to visit bangladesh. after that she said congratulaions and welcome to USA.

overall, my wife told me it was a very smooth process. but the waiting time was killing her. i hope these information might help someone like me.

Congratulations! Together at last, may your marriage be blessed.

Can I ask why your case was at NVC for over 3 years? Were you a permanent resident when you filed and then upgraded to citizenship status?

Enjoy your life and make every day special.
