Hi:

I have a situation where 6 months ago a friend turned in his joint I 751, and separated the following week. The petition got approved, and they are divorcing soon.

Any complications that can arise during citizenship.

ok, it comes this insight for you. It is needed that for your friend, he or she has to be married with the person at least 2 years and 9 months, that the 3 months you are going to win if you submit the petition to USCIS. If you the person can probe that he/she was married at least that time, with the certification of marriage and the certificate of Divorce, it is just to count the time between them. I recommend you 2 years and 10 months better, so your friend is going more nice, in case of any issue. This is my personal opinion, bye,
