POE Miami - experience?

My sweetie will be arriving on her K1 visa in about 2 weeks - POE Miami. Yeah!!!

Any do's or don'ts at POE?? She is nervous at heck. Anyone with experience coming through Miami??

I have been through there many times with no problem, but I am USC and of course a tourist visa is much different than K1.

I've gone through Miami on a tourist visa and it was no hassle, not sure how K1s are handled. I might be going through Miami for my K1, if I can't find a cheaper fare straight through San Juan.

Easy and no problem. My husband came through Miami from Poland. I was nervous because before he left Poland, his mother opened that infamous sealed brown envelope because the mail carrier toldWhen I heard that I almost had a heart attack. Well my husband sealed it back up and he came in through Miami no problem! Good luck!

We came through Miami together when my husband came from Panama in January. It was pretty easy although the process took about an hour and a half, most of the time just sitting in the waiting area in secondary processing. My biggest advice is to allow at least 3 hours to make any necessary flight connections. Most airlines book about a 90-120 minute connection and that most likely will not be sufficient. They asked him for the envelope, processed him, told him thatt he can't work or travel without proper documents..etc etc...and that was about it.

I guess it depends if she flies on a busy day for the INS officers at MIA. I went thru Miami, and since I had heard about the delays there, I made reservations with a 5 hours layover.

Of course since I had been precautious, everything went on faster, I was in and out of Customs in like 35 or 45 minutes, and all the guys I found there were joking and congratulating me for my marriage.

At the end they opened the mysterious brown envelope, stamped things, read other, explained that I had to get married within 90 days, kinda explained the AOS process, and congratulated me again and let me go. It was easy and painless.

You wont have a problem there, unless they are crowded, and then, you'll just have to wait.
