If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

In some Arab countries you are required to have a "family book" this lists the husband, his wife (marriage) - this is needed to register the births of the children etc. In Morocco you have to have this for alot of things - namely enrolling your children in school, applying for passports etc. It's sort of a proof of citizenship. Important to get BEFORE you have children if you plan to register them in their foreign parent's country. For us - I'm in it after loops here at the Moroccan Consulate, also our son is and my son is as well (even though he's not Moroccan by birth) he was included for school purposes should they be needed.

May 11 '09 - Case Approved 10 yr card in the mail

June - 10 yr card recieved

Feb. 19, 2010 - N-400 Application sent to Phoenix Lockbox

April 3, 2010 - Biometrics

May 17,2010 - Citizenship Test - Minneapolis, MN

July 16, 2010- Retest (writing portion)

October 13, 2010 - Oath Ceremony

Journey Complete!

So, it was a pain to do it at the consulate here? I wonder how hard it would be for someone who couldnt go visit the consulate. Probably a royal pain if they could do anything at all without making a trip to DC.

VERY true about the children also.

Thanks for sharing :)

Speaking of citizenship we went to the office and they said if we paided a fee and since our official paperwork says we are married for 2.5 years they could process my Egyptian Citizenship in 15 days.

Thats AWESOME!

i hope to get the family book.

but we have had NO LUCK even registering our marriage at the consulate. they told us we had "to take" the papers to Morocco to get our marriage registered or whatever.

and we DO have a baby coming.... :luv::unsure:

every time i think about it, it gets me sad. We've been married for 2 years now, and still can't get our marriage recognized properly in the KoM.

i hate very few things, but i hate the Moroccan Consulate.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Sorry, Y'Hbibtik if i hijacked your poll!!

But yeah, i'm really concerned about the Family Book thing!

Congrats! I'm not sure if they have this in Egypt and my husband is not here to ask. They have a family id that has everybody listed on it but not sure about a book.
