i think it's best to buy your tickets only after your interview, just so that you know it's approved or not or having it delayed under some circumstances. however it is, if you really think that you're gonna pass the interview (which i'm sure you will)... then you can get your ticket straightaway!

Hey VJ´s, i was just curious if someone can help me.

I do have my Interview on July 21st, when do u think i can book my flight??????

Thx in advance.

uhm

i really dont know ..it depends from embassy to another

ours here put most but not all on AP which may take months ..so its dangerous to book a flight till we have the visa on hand

so my best advise is to check your Embassy reviews to determine how close u get the Visa after Interview approval ..

this can help you more to determine :)Good Luck

Frankfurt only mails the visa so you'd have to wait at least a week I believe. my husband had already booked a round-trip ticket for aug 10th and we decided not to change it. but like everyone said of course it's better to wait until the visa is definitely approved.

If you are going to book now, then make sure it is a refundable ticket or that the cost of moving the flight date is low. My Parents have their interview on July 29th (IR-5) in London and they have their flights booked for Aug 7 if they need to change the flight date it will only cost them 38.00GBP each, so it is worth it to them to have good seats on the flight they want but still have the option to change it if needed.

Good Luck

I would strongly suggest waiting untill after you receive your visa and have it it your hand. Most tickets can be non refundable and would hate for you to waste your money because there is a delay in getting your visa delivered.

About one week after the interview when she gets her visa in hand. She usually will know at the interview whether she was granted it or not.

Buying a ticket before getting visa is a bet on a unhetched egg.

Buying a ticket is of less importance that getting the visa at this stage. Buying a ticket is easy like a klick but getting the visa is hard and uncertain like a blip.

Good luck and best wishes for interview.

I am not booking my flight until I have my visa in my hand! I do not anticipate any trouble, but I figure if I book my ticket some will go wrong, so I am going to wait.

The interview for Parents of a US Citizen is a bit different than the interview of a spouse. There is no marriage to prove, no extra evidence to establish a true relationship. Everything to confirm the relationship of Parent and child has already been submitted to NVC and their medical has been completed with no problems.

The flight my parents have booked is able to be changed with little cost involved, so for them it was better that they booked it now.

Assuming everything goes ok at the interview, you'll likely get your VISA within a week. My husband got his in 3 days.... We booked ours for a week after the interview.
